Description: 69 Anadara Fossil Clam Shells total weight 10.5oz Collected on the pacific coast in Oregon. These beautiful ancient shells are named after their genus, and come in many shapes and sizes, from black and white to rare blue highlights and stunning shades of beige. They can be wavy or straight striped, the waves can be very textured or completely smooth and generally are about an inch but come in many sizes. They are from the Miocene age and range from 5-23 million years old! I harvested these myself on the beaches of NorCal and Southern Oregon, this is one of the only places on Earth you will find them, only a few beaches have them and they are few and far between. These were collected over a 10 year period. High quality ones go for about 7$ a gram. Quality is generally personal taste, but judged by color, brightness and contrast. I have friends who make these into jewelry or even wire wraps and it is gorgeous, they’re naturally polished by the surf, but they polish up to a beautiful shine and look even prettier and more vibrant.
