Present are 2 Numbered Plates (Uncoloured) & 1 Un-numbered Engraving (Hand-Coloured). Description: A scarce copy of what we assume to be a first edition of this comprehensive work on the subject of property and landed estates. Bound in full calf, spine with five raised bands, gilt tooling, and gilt lettering on morocco label. Externally sound and firm, boards with some surface scratches and scuffs, bumping to corners. Internally, text-block remains sound, pages generally age-toned with scattered foxing and other minor blemishes, though with more significant spotting to pp.343-361. With 3 (of 4) illustrations present, one hand-coloured - lacks the frontispiece. N.B. We have not been able to identify any copies with this title on either BL or Library Hub, and only one copy, located in the US, on Worldcat. However, we have identified several copies on all of the above under the title The Complete Assistant for the Landed Proprietor, Estate and House Agent, Land-Steward, Proctor, Architect, Surveyor, Builder, Auctioneer, Appraiser, Upholsterer, Cabinet-Maker, &c. &c. &c. published in London in 1824 by Priestley & Weale. We have therefore concluded that the title-page in this copy may have been the original which was subsequently replaced by a close variant. Please view images carefully to confirm condition.
