Mister William Henry Seltsam of IRCC records got presented with an cylinder claiming to be an 1895 announced Bettini Cylinder of ADELINA PATTI singing MANON LESCAUT Bourbonnaise. He believed it, and the story is still being sold as true. Just recently a reputable American collector's magazine raved again about this Bettini cylinder. Well folks, it's a big hoax. It has conclusively been shown that it is a dub from a Diamond Disc of Lucette Korsoff BTW: Seltsam did not include the famous 1982 Jenny Lind cylinder, and there is at least one LP with a recording of a Richard Wagner cylinder.
