1968 Robert Kennedy Official Washington DC HQ Presidential Campaign Poster

Description: Robert Kennedy jumped into the 1968 democrat party presidential nomination race towards the end of March, after having served as his brother, John Kennedy's, Attorney General. He continued after JFK's death in that job for president Lyndon Johnson, but soon ran for, and won, a U.S. Senate seat from New York. RFK was assassinated in the kitchen area of the Los Angeles Ambassador Hotel on the night he won the June 4, California Democratic Presidential Primary. After having just finished his speech and, while exiting the hotel, he was shot. He died early in the morning of June 6. Bobby may have been on the way towards the White House if Sirhan Sirhan hadn't killed him - and that man is actually still alive in a California jail. Which shows that the state has been a loony bin since the 1960's. Here's an original RFK campaign poster, 12 1/8" x 18 7/8", from that short-lived campaign. It has an official disclaimer at bottom left from the Washington, D.C. headquarters. There may be much more renewed interest in this artifact since his son, Robert Kennedy Jr., is now running for president himself over a half-century after his father!
