Description: All of these historical documents and autographs and ephemera that I am listing came out of a 19th century scrapbook that I purchased about 30 years ago. I am finally getting around to removing many of the items which includes numerous historical autographs, and paper ephemera. I have not authenticated any of these but some have information on them which will give you information on age. This auction is for a 19th century cover page from an address given by Cortlandt Van Rensselaer (1808-1860) titled Signals from the Atlantic Cable. Inscribed at top to Nathan Harper with regards of C.V.R. This is undoubtedly from Cortlandt Van Rensselaer a Presbyterian minister who died in Burlington, NJ in 1860. Nathan Harper also lived in Burlington and was an active member of the Society of Friends. Paper measures 4 1/4” by 5 1/4”. Pieces of paper missing on right side along with tear below Harper’s name.
