Description: 1917 photo, “School where soldiers wearing masks are tested to see if they can stand gas ‘attack’”. The image shows Portuguese soldiers waiting their turn for a gas mask test behind British lines in France. Three chipped corners but otherwise looks very good for age. Measures 8x10 inches. This comes from a lot of press photos from the New York Tribune which range from about 1905 - 1920.
