AL Burt "Tarzan of the Apes" by ER Burroughs w/o DJ 1915

Description: This sale is for an early re-print of "Tarzan of the Apes" by Edgar Rice Burroughs without the dust wrapper. This book was published circa 1915 by AL Burt of New York. The frontispiece was illustrated by Frank J. Arting. As I understand it, there were three printings of "Tarzan of the Apes" by AC McClurg prior to this printing by Burt. The cloth cover is solid dark green with gold lettering. The text block edges are toned a light gold and are slightly deckled (rough trimmed). The book measures approximately 5"X7.5" and contains 401 pages. I would describe the condition of the book to be near fine without jacket. There are no pages missing or torn, except for a 1" closed tear at the bottom of the Title page. There are no markings, except for a previous owners name at the top of the first paste down and at the top of the Dedication page. There is also a very tiny pencil notation at the top corner of the first free end paper. There is the beginning of a tear between the front paste down and the facing free end leaf. The binding is very tight and bright. There is a small white dot on the spine beneath the title. The corners of the cover are slightly bumped. As stated, there is no dust jacket. This book has been in my smoke free library for many years, but it is now time to pass it along.
