Description: A rare species from N.E. Uganda and adjacent South Sudan. Aloe canaria forms large clumps attractive and robust heads 2-3ft across, similar in stature to Aloe vanbalenii. This species has a broad flowering period from late spring into winter and erupts with showy displays of yellow and sometimes red. Characteristically, buds are round in the early stage of development. The plant offered here is from yellow-flowering parents. Best in the ground or a very large pot. This will make a great landscape subject in mild climates. Avoid frost. The plant in the 4.5" pot is the one you will receive. This plant will ship bareroot. If you would like to purchase multiple items from me, then please request an invoice BEFORE final checkout and I will combine shipping at a discount, otherwise I have to go back and issue partial refunds and it's more work. I usually ship within 3 business days but I might stretch it out to 5 if I'm waiting to ship a batch of orders. Extreme weather can also delay start of shipping. I usually won't ship during an extreme heatwave. If timing is an issue, then let me know. US sales only Ask for Matt Proceed to winter shipping instructions only if subfreezing temperatures are expected as heat packs are in limited supply. ***Winter Shipping Instructions Below*** Winter can be a tricky time to ship live plants. 72 hr. heat packs are available for an additional purchase: CLICK HERE FOR HEAT PACK This shipping upgrade is for unshipped plant purchases from Rain Shadow Designs only. All other buyers will have their order cancelled and refunded. Limit one per shipment, unless there is an unlikely event your box will exceed 1 cu. ft. 72 hr. heat packs are available for additional purchase of $7.50. This comprehensive upgrade covers the cost of the heat pack, as well as other shipping and handling costs. Shipping plants with a heat pack requires a slightly larger box, more insulation and more handling time than would otherwise be necessary. Their usage can add upwards of 7oz to the box. There are often extra logistics involved in monitoring regional weather and timing of shipments. One pack is typically adequate for a box less than 1 cu ft. but they are no guarantee far below freezing. They are inadequate for shipments of tender plants below 20 degrees outside. Supplies of these are limited so I'm reserving them only for customers expecting subfreezing conditions at the destination or enroute. Most west coast shipments, for instance, need not apply. Please request an invoice for multiple items from your purchase history BEFORE final checkout. Alternatively, you can purchase plants and the upgrade separately, but it helps to message me and reference a plant purchase. I will hold orders up to 7 business days after purchase to allow a cold spell to pass, but any loses are your responsibility, with or without the heat pack. They will be utilized according to their instructions and that's the best I can promise. Unfortunately, USPS considers plants as perishables and will not cover losses. If subfreezing weather is not a concern, then I usually ship within 2-3 business days. Feel free to message me if you have additional concerns about winter shipping. Thank you,Matt
