It is a custom product inspired by the Altec A7 Voice of the Theater, designed in a compact size. The main 4-inch full-range unit delivers a transparent sound quality with excellent clarity across low to high frequencies, featuring a flat frequency response that presents vocals and instruments in a lifelike manner. Notably, the efficiency of the unit, combined with the front-loaded horn effect, allows even subtle signals to produce sound, resulting in a good soundstage and dynamic range. Vocals are vivid and have excellent projection. Thanks to the unit's large offset stroke, the low frequencies are powerful and weighty, exceeding expectations for their size. While the high frequencies of the full-range unit are sufficient, I added a tweeter to enrich the sound with a silky quality. The diaphragm horn tweeter is modified to resemble the original A7's 511B sectoral horn. It has a cast-metal-like finish, is low-cut with a capacitor, and includes an attenuator for balance adjustment according to your preference. The front-loaded horn effect significantly enhances the sound's impact, yet the speakers remain enjoyable without causing listening fatigue.
