Description: Alvarez 5039 Bicentennial limited Edition 1975 guitar. If you are familiar with this model you know that they are known for their high quality craftsmanship and just beautiful voicing-tones. Limited to 800 produced #658. I just love this model with its 3-piece back-Indian Rosewood and Jacaranda center piece. This guitar was certainly kept in a case and is in its original shape. Tuning keys look brand new. Rosewood Back and sides are in gorgeous condition! Spruce top is beautifully aged. The issues this guitar has is from being lovingly played. Price reflects the issues: The top has 1 scuff mark see photo # 11, various small nicks see photos # 8,9,10. Photo #10 show multiple (small) pick marks. Worn patch on the neck see photo #7. Chip mark at top of headstock see photo #12. Frets 2 and 4 have deep finger/string wear divots. Fretboard was oiled and frets crowned. The guitar plays beautifully as is however to really make it sing it could use some further fret & fretboard work. I would also replace the original plastic nut, sting pins and saddle, saddle has a small chip. The ornate Mother of Pearl work is what draws me to these wonderful guitars. Handcrafted! The guitar has medium-low action (2.5 @ Low E, 12th fret) with room for adjustment on the saddle. Soft case included. Soft case included if available. I am neither a luthier nor a guitar technician. I have described this guitar to the best of my ability. Thank You!
