Description: the votive candle holder i can find no issues. this is such an iconic piece. it was designed by glass artist ann wolff (you can read more about her below and see an image of her in the third-to-last image.) this piece was designed early in the 1970s while she was at kosta boda of sweden (you can read more about them also below.) it is hand made. from the surface on which it rests to the irregular rim is 2⅞". the rim has a diameter of 1¾". the recess for the candle is about 1⅜" deep. you can view the second-to-last image to gain a sense of scale. it retains only a partial gold foil kosta boda sticker (see last image.) sticker originally read «hand made» and «kosta boda» about kosta boda (from 20thcenturyglass) kosta glass was founded in 1742 by anders koskull and bogislaus stael von holstein. in 1746 kosta was bought by johan wickenberg, and stayed in his family until 1893. kosta became part of the afors group in 1971, along with afors and boda, and later johansfors. the group was bought by upsala-ekeby in 1975, and renamed kosta boda ab in 1976. kosta boda merged with orrefors in 1990 to become orrefors kosta boda, and in 1997 became part of the royal scandinavian group. designers who have worked at kosta throughout the years include gunnar wennerberg, alf wallander, elis bergh, vicke lindstrand, paul hoff, bengt edenfalk, anna ehrner, and klas-goran tinback. about glass artist ann wolff [from: fjorn] ann wolff was a founding figure in international «studio glass». during a career that to date spans forty years, she has worked as an engraver, a vessel maker, a sculptor, a stained glass artist, a water-colorist and a designer for industry. after studies at the hochschule für gestaltung in ulm, she married swedish glass artist göran wärff and worked with him as a designer at pukebergs glasbruk 1960–1964, and then at kosta boda 1964–1970. ten years of discipline as a designer in the glass industry gave her practical and organizational skills that most of her colleagues in the glass world, particularly those outside scandinavia, do not have. an account of her decision to use sandblasting and etching techniques on glass underscores her technical adaptability. in 1982 whilst staying with harvey littleton in north carolina he taught her about printing from glass plates, a technique which resulted in some remarkable work from her. ann's installation at the ducal palace in venice was a transitional work with layered enamel painted glass sheets in dialogue with cast sculptural elements. maker's and/or other marks it retains only a partial gold foil kosta boda sticker (see last image.) dimensions from the surface on which it rests to the irregular rim is 2⅞". the rim has a diameter of 1¾". the recess fcor the candle is about 1⅜" deep. you can view the second-to-last image to gain a sense of scale. condition i can find no issues. the fine print the images serve as the majority of the listing description, so take a look at them closely. shipping costs have really increased—this is calculated into the buy-it-now price. i really add a large amount of packaging to protect what i ship, so that will inherently add alot of weight already. and shipping prices increase greatly with minor increments in weight. i am not able to sell individual items from items i have listed as a group. i just don't have the stamina to create new listings for those. i apologize for that. i haven't initially individually listed items because i don't have enough listing slots to so. trying to downsize some, though extremely melancholically. shipping time: i otherwise work more than full time and my health isn't great, so kindly excuse the longer handling time. if i am able to ship sooner, i absolutely will do that. i appreciate you taking the time to view my listing.
