The center pole is a brass coated metal, and the base is brass with a marble accent section. The only part that is magnetic on this lamp is the center pole. However, it appears to be brass coated. The top piece and the base show tarnishing but will clean up beautifully if you so choose. The cord is in good condition. However, it is always recommended to update wiring in all vintage lighting. The plastic twist piece that turns the fixture on and off is missing.
