Description: ANTIQUE VICTORIAN GOLD METAL & GLASS MIRROR DISPLAY PERFUME FOOTED PLATEAU TRAY. Incredible antique tabletop plateau! Beautiful bronze ormolu style frame with a mirrored top surface. This is a nice piece for displaying any number of things. A vase, dish, bowl, statue, sculpture, plant or any other piece of decorative art will flourish on this base as the mirror will show off the pieces reflection well adding to viewing angles. It’s also great as a wine or champagne coaster, allowing a special bottle to be shown off. The piece is 9” across the top and approximately 2.25” high.The mirror is glued onto the frame/base in the corners. There are supports in each corner with holes in them. Seeing as the mirror is glued and there are holes present, I am guessing the mirror is not the original surface. It seems likely whatever the original surface was that it was screwed into the base. It’s possible the mirror is original and was just mounted differently originally, I’m just not positive. The heavy (over 7lbs total weight) bronze frame portion is in great condition. It appears that it was gold gilt and the gilt is worn considerably. It looks great with its present patina though. When viewed from the bottom the cast bronze looks very old. I have it listed as Victorian ere but it’s possible that it’s older than that. This item came in a lot from a high end Boston area auction house. Most of the lot was French bronze ormolu style pieces. I assume this piece to be French as a result but it’s not marked. Very cool versatile piece either way. You can use it for any number of things. Would also look great with perfume bottles and jewelry on it. The final photo shows another plateau from the same lot that I will be listing.
