Description: This listing is for an antique bisque doll head recently purchased from a doll collection sold at a local auction. She is marked GL_27 and I have been unable to identify her maker. She was probably made for the French market in Germany. She is from the S.F.B.J era 1899-1914 and has many of the hallmarks of a French doll: her ears are pierced, she has a mouthful of square cut teeth, outlined lips and a high forehead. Her shoulder plate head is fine bisque with brown glass eyes. She has painted eyelashes and glossy multi-stroke eyebrows. Her lips are light pink with a red outline on the upper and bottom lips and she has a closed mouth with a lot of teeth. She has red dots in her nostrils and in the corners of her eyes and rosy pink cheeks. Her ears are pierced. She is marked " GL_27" on the back of her neck. The head is just under 5" and the head measures 8" around. Condition: There are no cracks, repairs or hairlines on the bisque head but there is some wear on the eyelids. Be sure to check my listings for more antique and collectible dolls and toys.
