Description: Antique Orr, Painter & Co. Cast Iron Parlor Stove. This piece is of typical high Victorian form, with various ornamental embellishments, decorations and cast with manufacture's name. NOTES This is a charming piece, and a fine example of how our Victorian ancestors decorated all things used in the house. The firm of Orr, Painter & Co was founded in Reading, PA. in the 1860s, and incorporated in 1886. The name changed in 1899 to the Prizer, Painter Stove & Heater Company. So we can say that this stove was made between 1886-1899. I had this piece appraised, and the appraised value is $3,000. Note: I have listed this as local pickup. I will be willing to deliver for a fee within a reasonable distance or work out another delivery method if you decide to purchase. Please message me with any questions.
