Description: This charming piece is originally from The panhandle of Western Nebraska. Fashioned from oak that has grayed and weathered with age and has plenty of character. Would make an amazing stand, side table, end table, etc. The peace measures 16 tall, and 11.75 wide and long. The legs are 1.25 square in the bottom horizontal braces are 7/8 squared. All of the attachment points between the legs and horizontal pieces are mortise and tenon jointed and, in typical old fashioned ingenuity/ MacGuyvering , the Craftsman has drawn together the whole top of the piece by running an x pattern of twisted wire to tie everything together. The top is fashioned out of tongue and groove oak. If I was to guess, and it is my guess, based on the construction, materials used, and style of the flat tip screws used to hold the top to the base, I believe this dates from the early part of the 20th century. Thank you very much!
