Description: Up for sale is a hand blown colorless squat-form quart Pre-Prohibition whiskey bottle. It's still wrapped in its original woven wicker protective casing, and through the wicker you can see embossed around the shoulder: "OLD TIMES WHISKY" in large lettering which is the brand. Also "FIRST PRIZE WORLDS FAIR 1893", and "COPYRIGHTED" in an arch. I was not previously familiar with the brand of whiskey but I figured spelling whiskey without an "E" was favored in the South, and sure enough, a quick Google turns up that it was a Louisville KY distillery that set up a display at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893 where they won the prize they're boasting about. It would date to the early 1900s. It has a tooled/straight double collar lip and has its original cork stuck inside the mouth. It's 10" tall and it's a bit less than 4 1/4" in diameter at the base. Thanks the to the wicker it is perfectly undamaged as far as the glass - no chips or cracks, evident wear, scratching etc. since it was protected. The wicker itself is also in great shape, not dry or brittle, and seemingly pretty much intact, except for a small section at the upper handle attachment which should hold it below the neck, so it's sliding up a bit, but can be held back down in place by re attaching it with a pin or something. There's some dirt and grime needing cleaning off the bottle's shoulder. Satisfaction guaranteed, if you're not in love after handling it in person I'm happy to accept returns.
