Description: ca 1910 NORTH DAKOTA BADLANDS Ranch Magic Lantern Slide Measuring 4 by 3.25 inches. Showing a ranch near the North Dakota Badlands. No label. I believe this is view from the opposite side of another ranch slide we have listed. Tape along the edges is well worn. Image is damaged along the outer edges. We are listing a collection of approximately 75 Magic Lantern slides. We believe the slides date from the late 1890's to about 1915. A large portion of these slides deal with a geographic expedition to the North Dakota Badlands and the Devil's Lake area. There are also a few slides featuring Dakota Sioux, rodeos and steamboats, oil wells and more. The slides are as found. They have not been cleaned or preserved in any way. We have had them on hand for two years and have not noticed any additional damage in that time. Many are well worn with the taped edges loose or lacking. Many have lost their labels explaining the scene captured. Many of the photographs have been compromised and are lacking some content. They are offered here due to their scarcity. They are not from a mass produced set and many of the slides contain images you will not find elsewhere.
