Description: Candide, Or: The Optimist - Voltaire - Fritz Kredel - Peter Pauper Press - VG+. There is no printed date on this beautiful copy of Candide or: The Optimist by J.F.M.A de Voltaire. This book has an inscription (Pic 3) on the inside title page from 1945 if that is to give some indication of its age. The Peter Pauper Press began in 1928 which narrows down the date of publication to within 17 years. Aside the inscription, every page in this book is in beautiful shape, no rips or tears, discolorations or dog eared corners, just lovely especially made (for this printing) pages. The cover has some light discoloration or fading along the edges it seems though it could also be part of the design, I am uncertain on that. The original cardboard slip case has some rough edges, a small split (Pic 8) and toning/discoloration, but is otherwise complete and in strong condition.
