Description: CEF - WW1 Canadian ID Identification "Dog" Tag Canadian WW1, Meyer 7th Battalion 862619 Pte H.F. MEYERS R.C. (sic)Mathew Francis Meyers was born on 2nd August 1893 at Toronto, Ontario and was a Steam Fitter by Trade. He was wounded twice in WW1 and invalided out just before the war's end. He returned to Toronto and married on 1st June 1921, working as a Fitter with a Gas company. His full service file can be found easily on line at The Canadian Great War Project (with an image from a newspaper clipping there) or LAC and also ancestry, I can't post a link here unfortunately.He was the son of Matthew Meyer and Mary Ida Meyer (nee Montague); husband of Alice Meyer (nee Brown) married June 1, 1921.Employed in Toronto at Consumers' Gas Company.
