Description: Cleopatra Ae diobol or 80 drachma from the mint at Alexandria. Offered is a nice example of this desirable coin at a reasonable price due to the flan flaws on both sides of the coin as shown. Struck 51-30 BC on a 26mm bronze flan weighing 16.9 gm. with the flan flaws noted. Obv. Diademed and draped bust of Cleopatra facing right. Excellent detail on Cleo's face and hair despite the flaw centered around her ear. Resulting in quite a nice profile for the issue. Rev. Quite worn as most of these coins are, and with the noted flaw with an Eagle with closed wings standing on a thunderbolt facing left with a complete KLEOPATRAE legend on the left and a worn-away (BASILEOS) on the right. A rare example with Cleo's full name readable as shown in spite of the flaws. In the beautiful condition shown with any damage or imperfection described and shown in the photos.
