This is Kent Moore specialty tool J-8501, Water Pump Oil Seal Installer, PLUS an unidentified driver handle identical to Kent Moore J-7079-2, for Detroit Diesel series 71 6V, 8V & 12V engines. Use this handle and installer in a press -or- on vehicle with a non-ferrous hammer. Manufactured with milspec quality standards under contract to the U.S. Department of Defense, for issue to military motor pools. Driver head J-8501 was removed from sealed packaging for the photos you see above and is NOS, the handle also appears to be NOS but as I cannot say for certain, selling as "used"; it bears no strike marks or other signs of previous use. The US Army felt obliged to etch the National Stock Number into the small tool, with resulting very light rust/cosmetic discoloration from long storage. Otherwise both pieces are clean, complete & undamaged, lightly oiled and wrapped in VCI paper to inhibit corrosion. NOW OBSOLETE, NO LONGER AVAILABLE FROM THE OEM!
