It was a call to their fans and the citizens of Detroit to buy War Bonds, in an effort to help fund the US involvement in World War II.Steve Yzerman's Retirement #19 patch was worn for one game, Jan. 2, 2007, the day after Yzermans retirement ceremony. These are a commemorative, high stitch-count, embroidered patches, with iron-on, heat seal backing. A patch is also very attractive when framed alone, or with other memorabilia, such as a game ticket, player photo, sportscard, mini pennant, etc. Such a display piece would make a very nice gift,or unique addition to any collection.
