Gustave Dore is considered one of the greatest illustrators of all time, and books featuring his illustrations are highly prized. There are 136 plates total between the two volumes so it is profusely illustrated with gorgeous images. I have mashed many together just to try and give you a small idea of what you can see! The multi tone leather with heavy gold accents is stunning and imposing when added to the size of the volumes. The back of both volumes are embossed with a scrolling design. The leathers are cowhide imported from Italy by Cortina leathers. Finch Fine Ultra Smooth Vanilla paper was especially milled by Finch Paper LLC. Lithography by Falcon Press. Multicover cover decoration and custom binding by Bind Tech. This publication was deluxe by even the Easton Press Deluxe Limited Editions standards. Only 400 were made so that is an exceptionally small number all considered. Hand numbered, with certificate. This set was produced in even fewer numbers than the extraordinary Crusades set and have become more scarce.
