Description: "Safe Haven" on reverse side. I've read that it was made by McCoy pottery but I can't find any markings on the piece that verify that. I've also read that it was made by Contemporary Ceramics in Chatham, NJ. I can't verify that either. I can verify that it has a slot in the top for putting in coins. That is verified. Via Wiki, Dry Dock Savings Bank merged with Dollar Savings Bank in 1983 and became Dollar Dry Dock. Ergo, that is why I assumed the dating of this piece would be pre-1983. Conjecture perhaps. At some point they merged with or were absorbed by Emigrant Savings bank but ultimately went out-of-business in 1992. 5” diameter, 2 ½” thick, weighs 15oz.That's enough about this bank. The shipping is more than the bank practically. NOTE!!! Any easels, propping devices, rulers, etc shown in the photos are for displaying the item and are NOT included with the item. NOTE!!! In general, I have cleaned the item very lightly for any bulk surface dust, dirt, etc. I have NOT deep cleaned it and will not be doing so here. I am often dealing with antique/vintage/delicate items and am very reluctant (aka DON’T) do any deep cleaning for fear of affecting, damaging, removing paint/patina, etc from the item. The item is as shown in the photos. NOTE!!! Check the shipping costs. I try to overpack/oversize the shipping box/container to try to ensure safe, undamaged delivery. It’s worth the extra $2/3.
