Authentic old French master violin by Charles-Francois Charotte 1930 - labeled & stamped inside on the back above the label and on the upper block. This beautiful violin shows no open cracks or open seams. The table is finely grained spruce and the 1-piece back, as well as ribs and neck, is nicely flamed maple. Pegs, fingerboard, tailpiece and chinrest are ebony. The instrument has been completely restored by our luthiers and checked by our violin player on playability. It received new ebony pegs, new ebony fingerboard, an ebony tailpiece, an ebony chinrest, a new bridge, new soundpost and new strings. These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid finger performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full character of this violin!Very good old French master violin in immediate playing condition!
