Description: Here we have one beautiful Girl Scout "STERLING" SILVER AWARD Pin, in excellent condition. It measures approximately 3/4" in diameter and absolutely beautiful! This Silver Award was first introduced in 1980 and it is still currently available. In 2011 the design was changed slightly so the trefoil design is more pointed on the bottom (previously it was so rounded that it was difficult to tell the top from the bottom). This pin is the pre-2011 version with the rounded trefoil design. Note the hallmark on the back, the large "L." This is from the Lyon Brothers, who made many older pins from the 1960's through early 1980's. This Silver Award Pin was one of the first ones ever awarded around 1980. You don't find these often - a great addition to a collection. One last note - This award, in any form or age, is only available with approval through the council to girls that have actually completed the project, so this pin can be very difficult to come by for collectors!
