The reverse has a spot for an O-Pee-Chee Gordie Howe Stamp; this card is without the stamp. The card was made by the Topps Gum Company and printed in Canada at the O-Pee-Chee plant in London, Ontario. The text on the reverse is both in English and French. Gordon "Gordie" Howe, 1928-2016, was "Mr. Hockey", "Number 9", a Canadian hockey player who was beloved in Detroit and throughout the hockey world. From 1946 to 1980, he played for twenty-six seasons in the National Hockey League and then six seasons in the World Hockey Association. His first twenty-five seasons were with the Detroit Red Wings, he was a twenty-three time All Star, he won the Stanley Cup four times with the Red Wings and was a six-time winner of the Hart Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player.
