Heidi is a well loved classic about a little girl in the Alps who first goes to live with her grandfather before going on a years-long trip to Germany and eventually returning to the Swiss Alps. Heidi lost her parents as a toddler and was being raised by her Aunt but a job opportunity keeps the Aunt from caring for Heidi so she is taken to live with her grandfather who is initially very cold towards her. Heidi falls in love with the Swiss countryside and makes friends with Peter, a goat herder. Heidi lives with her grandfather for about three years before her Aunt returns for her with an opportunity to become a companion to a Clara who must use a wheelchair. Heidi learns to love Clara but she’s not happy in the household. Heidi returns later to the mountains where her grandfather eventually rejoins society.
