Description: Offered is the vintage book "Help in Time of Trouble and Other Dial-A-Prayer Meditations", written by Roy E. Bell and published in 1964 by Anderson Press of Charlotte, North Carolina. The book is a first edition and has been signed by the author, dated Christmas, 1964 (see photo #2). The Dial-A-Prayer service, giving callers a different meditation and prayer each day, began in North Carolina in late 1959. This book contains the text of dozens of these recordings from the first half of 1964, grouped in to 20 categories. The original dust jacket is included. An author-signed copy of this book is apparently a rare find; at the time of original listing I could not find another signed copy for sale on eBay or anywhere else. The book is approx. 8 3/4" x 5 3/4" and contains 192 pages. Overall, the book is in very good condition. The dust jacket has some wear and wrinkles along the top edge and there are some numbers written on the back flap but does have an unclipped price. The black hard cover has almost no wear. The gold words on the spine and front are slightly faded, but still easily read. There is no cracking inside either the front or the back covers. The white endpapers have some foxing and there is the author's signature, a gift inscription and a book store stamp on the first blank page (see photo #2). I see no missing or torn pages and all are well-attached to the binding and generally clean and clear. I see a couple of folded-down corners. In addition to the writing already noted, there are some occasional underlines, check marks, etc. but this is not extensive. Please take a moment to look at some of the other items in my eBay store!
