Description: ****DETAILS : we try not to abuse terminology in describing records rarity, but we think we can legitimately claim, this is a genuinely rare record. The mono version, manufactured in scant number was mostly only made for radio. There is a promo stereo version of this record that exists with a red label that seems almost as scarce as this but not as desirable as... the Mono version is a different mix. Columbia MONO pressings are known for their fantastic fidelity Matrix #s end in 1A/1A, but the white label of course ensures it's the earliest to come off the press. Condition: Sleeve: Full gloss intact. tiny mark in the lower right corner, Just a hint of ring wear at top. no stress marks anywhere. Amazingly there is no edge wear on any of three spines besides corners of opening. A minimum of age marks on the back cover but of course has a yellow haze of age to it. overall pretty solid for a record of this age. Vinyl: visually very strong VG++ to NM- a few and only a few scant short light marks. We always fully playgrade records like this when grading so we KNOW what we are selling... and playgrading it we hear..that it sounds wonderful with the faintest background noise including between tracks would grade it the same VG++ to NM minus overall to the ears. We prefer this mono mix easily. It's straight, loud and clear like you are right there. We are longtime record collectors into audio fidelity and have been grading and pricing used vinyl since the late '80s. We have been careful enough in our vinyl grading of, especially for pre - 1970 vinyl to sell many records of this caliber/price that we have never had a complaint on the grading of a higher priced record. We grade and describe records as how we would want them graded and described to us if we were the buyer. when these come up for sale, they are usually radio station copies that have VG or maybe VG+ vinyl, even those go for 80-150 a recent copy of this in similar shape (VG++or better) went for 480 at auction. A testament to the rarity of finding one of these in nicer shape. and people seeing that price has made some copies come out of the woodwork in last three years. a lot of them ungraded but with pictures of the vinyl with lots of glare, set at the lower end of the pricing chart for this edition. others show vinyl with multiple long marks and graded VG+. showing how wide the grade VG+ has gotten over the years. Selling couple of large collections of mostly rarer LPs, CDs, promo items and other music and non music culture items.Check out our other listings to combine shipping.
