Description: This is a rare November 17th, 1952 playbill from the one-night, Post-Broadway engagement of the JOHN VAN DRUTEN play "I AM A CAMERA" at the RKO Orpheum Theatre in Davenport, Iowa. (The production opened November 28th, 1951 at the Empire Theatre in New York City and ran for 214 performances before going on the road.) ..... The play, which eventually became the basis of the award winning JOHN KANDER and FRED EBB musical "CABARET", starred JULIE HARRIS as "Sally Bowles" (winner of the first of her four Tony Awards for "Best Actress in a Play") and featured CHARLES COOPER, OLGA FABIAN, EDWARD ANDREWS, HARRIET E. MacGIBBON, WILLIAM ALLYN and JANET DOWD .....
