No scratches on the front with exception of one long section at the top and a few scratches/scrapes, specks and glaze bumps from the manufacturer, and a chip on the rim from the manufacturer (has glaze over it). Many dishes even newer ones and pottery have unacceptable lead content and and are not safe especially for children and pregnant women! Painted dishes are more prone to contain lead.
