Description: J. E. Caldwell of Philadelphia was the retailer of this bowl that was made by the Tennant Co. which was succeeded by Hartford Sterling Co. of Philadelphia in 1901. It is possible that it was sold to J. E. Caldwell by Hartland just after the takeover. It is marked by Caldwell and Tennant. It is marked sterling 925 over1000 2 times. So, it is possible that it had been sold by an earlier buyer to Caldwell's. This bowl stands about 5 1/4" tall and about 6 1/2" at the rim. It is sitting on its foot of holly twigs with berries. The foot is about 2 1/2" at the highest point. This is a wonderful piece for Christmas display. Free shipping.
