Both with applied, hand crafted flowers. All original. Markings: the large mermaid retains its foil label "Lefton's - Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. - Exclusives - Japan" and hand painted "3107" on back; small mermaid hand painted "3107" on back. 1950s I believe. Japan. CONDITION: There is a tiny paint loss to the tip of the large mermaid's lyre. On the small mermaid there is a small production flaw to the spike of hair closest to her body (under the arm that is holding the mirror): it almost appears that the tip of this spike is nicked but under magnification the surrounding glaze edge appears undamaged so I believe this is a small production irregularity (glaze miss). Both mermaids exhibit some scattered crazing. See photos. None of this is conspicuous. Otherwise both mermaids are in in excellent original condition with no damage and no significant wear. No restorations / repairs / touch ups. No nicks/chips/fleabites/losses. No breaks, cracks, dings, scratches, rubs, scuffs. All flower petals appear to be intact with no damage or loss to the tips. Generally clean as found. No stains or discolorations. No underglaze discoloration.
