Description: Merida Silex 4000 Carbon Gravel Bike 2024. I purchased this new Merida Silex 4000 gravel bike sight unseen to do some gravel touring in Austria and Italy. The tour went great but the bike turned out to be slightly too big for me. Will best fit 6’1” to 6’5”. Didn’t have time to sell it in Europe, so decided to bring it home and sell it here. My goof could be your gain! Is the bike any good? Well, I put about 800 miles on it, both loaded and unloaded, on everything from pavement to single track, and it performed beautifully! Not just for racing! For bike-packing the Silex has two fork mounts and three frame bottle mounts as well as mounts for front or rear racks. The Shimano GRX components look great and perform flawlessly, with powerful brakes and lots of gears for the hills. Is it fast? Well, Matej Mohoric rode the same frame to victory in the 2023 World Gravel Championship! So yeah, a great bike and something not often seen in the USA. List price was approx. $2600 and I have approx $1900 invested in it. A few rub marks on the frame from bikepacking bags, but no dings or scratches. ANY REASONABLE OFFER CONSIDERED!
