🎄Michael Whelan s/n art tryptych 1994 Passage to Sanctuary original lithographs

Description: Michael Whelan s/n art 1994- Passage to Sanctuary original lithograph tryptych- Arrival 19" x 23" image 22 3/4" x 27" actual sizePath's End 20" x 20" image Landing 19" x 23" image Per a flyer from that era- "Commissioned for its members by the Fantasy 500 Collectors Consortium", which I participated in, back then. I had received an invitation to support an endeavor ofhaving an Artist create a set of three original works, free of any suggestions - of whatever they wanted to create. Ideally, this would continue in the years following. It is my understanding that Michael was the first Artist approached. He agreed, and wanted his fans to be notified- so everyone on his mailing list received an invitation.I loved the idea, plus the group would vote on future Artists. "These original lithographs are produced through a unique printing technique usingoverlapping layer-after-layer of translucent colors on an opalesque base. The finishedpiece is an original art form, having a clarity and richness of quality that is unmatchedby conventional printing. The paper is 100% cotton archival and the inks are developedto provide a lasting brilliance in any light." Michael's series took longer than expected, which I did not mind. I enjoyed having thespace on a wall reserved- filling it as each piece was completed. I believe the second one, Path's End - was originally intended to be larger - then Michael decided it would have better presence being a bit smaller than the other two. I think it does work better for the whole this way. During that time, there were a couple of other projects Mithril put out. At a further point, we had our vote for the next tryptych. This included pre-paying for theseries. I did, but then things fell apart. In an attempt at compensation, they sent metwo complete sets of prints w/ matching numbers - listed here, plus a couple of single prints I will list separately. The first three images are from Michael's website, the rest are photos of what I am selling.Each complete set is attached to a carboard backing, wrapped in plastic- where one can see the first print- Arrival, but still see there are others behind it, slightly offset. Two complete sets on offer here- you can choose 146/555 or 147/555. The plastic on the right side of 146 is open. I can see that the three prints are there, but am not able to read their numbers for confirmation. There is no CoA. The artwork was created entirely on the computer. After printing, digital source files were destroyed.
