The A’s got home runs from Marcus Semien and Khris Davis, along with hits from Tommy LaStella, Ramon Laureano, Chad Pinder, and Sean Murphy. They led 5-0 going into the eighth inning. In the top of the eighth, Bassitt gave up a single to Tim Anderson. Liam Hendricks then came in. He struck out Yoan Moncada. Yasmani Grandal then walked to the plate. With the count 1-1, HENDRICKS HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! He threw a 96.7-mph (wow!) four-seam fastball, and GRANDAL BLASTED THIS BALL OVER THE RIGHT CENTER FIELD WALL FOR A TWO-RUN HOME RUN SCORING ANDERSON!! This ball was then retired. Hendricks gave up a single to Jose Abreu but then struck out Nomar Mazara and Luis Robert to end the half inning. The White Sox scored again in the ninth when Hendricks gave up singles to Nick Madrigal and Anderson, followed by walks to Moncada and Grandal. But the White Sox fell to the A’s 5-3. The A’s ended up winning the series in Game 3 the next day. This ball is MLB Authenticated for Grandal’s home runs off Hendricks in Game 2 of the 2020 AL Wild Card Series.
