As a big watch collector, I love the recent customable nature of casioaks that allows you to get some cool variations that make each piece unique compared to anything that you buy stock. However, I find that a great deal of the casioak mods are simply the cheapest model stuck in a metal chassis. This often results in many similar looking mods that ultimately look tacky. I wanted to create a custom build with 3 goals in mind: 1) Making the watch to look as close as possible to the DNA of an A P watch. 2) Creating a watch mod that does not look cheap. 3) Making a mod that is unique even to other moded pieces found here on eBay. I first went out and found the dial that most closely resembled the classic A P waffle grid pattern. This landed me on a rather rare/limited Futur x Casio collab that was only sold in Japan. I imported the watch over as I loved the grid like decaling, the poppy bronze day counter, blue analog screen, and the metal gloss on the Futur logo. Next I went with a really high quality matte black casioak watch band with a butterfly clasp. The band, just like a real A P, holds its shape when set flat on the table. This case also has the crown detail on the right side to best capture that genuine A P look. Some mod bezels don’t have that feature! Overall, I was pleased with the final look. It is definitely unique to other pieces on here and includes a rare limited edition Japan exclusive watch dial. In addition to the watch, you will receive the original “black gummy” band, screws, original black dial ring, and box/paperwork. Lastly you will also get a tool kit with two screw drivers and a link removal tool that will allow you to remove the links to fit the watch to your wrist size. The current link size is 8 inches and can be modified to any smaller wrist size. (Notice: When I imported this one from Japan, the cardboard box got a little dinged due to rough handling and I believe the manual was lost when it was checked at customs.
