Product Description: This offering is for a new-old-stock package of thin (non padded) handlebar tape in a red color. As shown in the pictures, the offering includes a single roll of tape, which should be enough to wrap one set of handlebars, as well as two matching plastic end plugs. We say matching in that both the tape and end plugs are considered red, but the end plugs are a bit darker shade of red, while the tape is a somewhat lighter shade of red (with maybe a hint of orange in the tape color). If we had to compare to a more well know brand of similar looking tape, we would say this offering bears some resemblance to Benotto tape in that it's a thin plastic with a little stretch to it, but no padding or adhesive backing. I should also note that while Benotto tape is semi-transparent, this tape is not. Additionally, we actually like these end plugs a little better than Benotto end plugs, because they will actually seat on the inside of the bar-ends, so a bit more secure and will probably do a better job of anchoring the bar tape at the bar-ends. Lastly, we have noted it's slightly ribbed in that there is a pattern to the tape...so not perfectly smooth to the touch. Please understand, I don't mean to claim this bar tape is on par with Benotto tape in terms of it's quality, as I just don't know. My sole reason for the comparison is to better illustrate the look and feel of the tape relative to a more well known quantity...and that being the more popular Benotto tape. Listing Update...I've had some folks ask about the length of each roll of this tape, so I measured a roll and wanted to pass along this information. A single roll of this tape measures about 18 feet (216 inches) or 5.4 meters (540 centimeters). One other comment, as I was measuring the length, I ended up unrolling one of the rolls and got a better feel for the tape. Again, I am not saying it's top-end quality, but for the money, it's not bad and I don't think you can beat it in terms of value. Just my "two cents" of course, so take it for what it is worth as far as opinions go... The tape has been fairly well preserved, so we think it will wrap a set of bars without any problems...i.e., no cracking or breaking (as the tape still feels fairly soft and pliable). Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case. Note to international customers regarding customs... We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive.
