This exquisite pattern will addthe festivity, formality, and the ornamentation of baroque patterns with theadditional sophistication of pierced handles (except knives) and pierced backs on the salad forks. For added prestige, Michelangelois one of the patterns that Oneida also manufactured in sterling silver. I must, however, sell this set. This is a case where size matters. As much as I admire this set’s timelessbeauty, what I quickly realized in using it is that Michelangelo, and all Oneidaflatware for that matter, is simply too small for me: a man with quite largehands that take a size 13 wedding band. While I’m pleased that many of my smaller-pawed dinner guests will findmy Oneida Michelangelo the perfect fit for their use, I simply cannot makesense of putting form that far ahead of function—even for the host himself. Therefore, I offer this set for yourconsideration. In addition to only using parts of this set only seven times,the pieces that were used were NEVER: Ø Left soaking in water for any time at all. Ø Left with food residue on them. Ø Cleaned in the dishwasher. Ø Hand washed with anything other than mild dishsoap and a soft kitchen sponge. Ø Allowed to air dry—they were always dried with amicrofiber cloth. Ø Stored anywhere other than in a dedicated,flatware storage box (not included) in a dedicated china closet.
