Description: This listing is for organically grown Maliner Kren variety horseradish crowns and roots. It's intended for planting, but these are the same roots we shave up and eat and they are grown without chemicals or preservative treatment. If you prefer to eat them, go for it! This variety of horseradish is spicy but not burning. It's been grown in full sun in Colorado and absolutely loves it here. Its leaves grow to about 4 feet tall. It's a pretty, hearty, completely perennial crop. Easy to grow once established! Consider planting either in containers or somewhere you can dig all the way around. It can spread, but it's not a weed (not in my experience!) Crowns will grow fuller plants faster but root cuttings will absolutely grow. I now have several plants that all started from a side root cutting. I can't guarantee that the plants will thrive in your conditions, but I do promise to send out healthy plants.
