Pair of Antique Amethyst Hoosier Cabinet Spice Shaker Jars, Ribbed, Yellow CapsThis pair of shakers were found in an old Vermont homestead kitchen.They are a dark purple amethyst glass, unmarked aside from the general ribbed design as shown, with air bubbles and a straw mark observed, and mold lines only found at the threads (one on each side), but not down the sides or across the bottoms.The screw caps are aluminum, painted yellow on the exterior (looks factory painted to me).Each is 4" high x 1-3/4" diameter overall with the caps onThey were used as salt and pepper shakers at the house. My best guess is that they are at least similar to Hoosier jars.Condition of the glass is very good, with light signs of age and previous use. No chips or cracks.
