This can be seen from different angles in the sixth-from-last, fifth-from-last, and fourth-from-last images. The crack is just before the last page, and this last page seems to be fairly well attached to the back endpaper. So I don't think there is a big risk that this last page will become loose, although it is possible. Another issue is that there is an area of staining on the back cover, which is perhaps where there was a label stuck in this area in the past; see images 2. There is a small area of tearing at the fore-edge of one of the pages; see image 12 for a close-up of this. There is mild creasing at the top corner of several pages near the middle of the book; see the last image for a close-up of this." This is a first edition of Philip II of Spain by Martin A.S. Hume. It is one of the "Foreign Statesmen" series that was published by Macmillan in the late 1890s.
