The inscription reads: "utra que unum" meaning "both worlds are one" and the [Date]. The obverse bears a simplified coat of arms of the Bourbon dynasty, and reads "[King's name and Ordinal]", followed by the initials "D.G." for Dei Gratia (By the Grace of God), "Hispanarum Rex" (King of Spain), "ET IND REX" (and the Indies).
