Wanted...A Wife for the Gorilla of the Year: Before the year is out Snowflake, the two-year old albino gorilla, will be every bit as famous as those two East/West lovers, An-An and Chi-Chi. While the world waits and wonder as to his future mate the crinkly-nosed blue-eyed, snowy white gorilla is being fussed and cared for in Barcelona. The young gorilla was captured two months ago in Spanish Equatorial Guinea. His mother was shot by natives while raiding a banana plantation, and he was caught. The natives intended to make a meal of it, but gorilla meat is on the tough side, and when two Spanish hunters offered them two goat in exchange for the gorilla they gladly accepted. And so the little albino was named SnowFlake and taken to a new and luxurious life in Barcelona. But it soon became obvious that Snowflake was lonely. Officials at the zoo fear that he might pine to death and are making desperate efforts to find him a mate, but so far without success. In the meantime the zoo's yet came up with a temporary distraction for the lonely albino gorilla - he introduced him to his base at hound by the name of 'Fred'. Now Fred and Snowflake are the greatest of friends, and they play together in the fifth-floor apartment of Senor Ruela's Barcelona residence where Snowflake is staying until he is to be transferred to his quarters in the zoo, in about two months time.
