Description: What a pretty family of black dolls. Mama is 20” lol ng. She has painted eyes and mouth with yarn hair under a vintage little straw hat. She has pantaloons with lace under a light plaid dress. Her apron is navy blue plaid. She has a 1850s jacquard coverlet draped around her shoulders. Father is 20” with painted eyes and mouth with black yarn hair under his straw hat. He has a light colored plaid shirt and overalls in the same navy blue plaid. He has a piece of the same 1850s jacquard coverlet as a scarf around his neck. Prissy Mae is 9” tall. She has painted eyes and mouth with short black yarn hair. She wears a diaper type pants and a large neck scarf out of the same fabric her parents wear. She is holding a piece of crochet. This is a lovely family and will look so good sitting together on a small bench. Hard to find a whole family. Mama has some repairs on her dress and pantaloons where a squirrel got hold of her. They were mended. My friend, Carol Taylor, from Chattanooga made her in the early 80s. At that time we did craft shows together and people would line up waiting for the gate to open and run to her booth for her dolls. She would sell out on the first day. I did undress these dolls and wash their clothes since they have been stored. I’m 82 and having to downsize my wonderful collections. Thanks for looking.
