Description: Lovely antique children’s lithograph soft cover book MOTHER GOOSE MELODIES #103, published by Charles E. Graham & Co., New York. A pale yellow cover with soft green panels of artwork features a flock of white swans, a child baking and duck hunter crouching at a lake. This book is RARE and quite old, dating back to the late 1800s to early 1900s. It features a compilation of Mother Goose nursery rhymes including classics such as Sing a Song of Sixpence, Rain, Rain, Go Away, The House That Jack Built, Polly Put the Kettle On and Old Mother Hubbard. Heavy yellowed pages are all illustrated, then partially colored in a red or green ink overlay process. The book’s spine is bound in 4 folded sections with heavy string binding it together. The front cover has the item #103 printed, opposite the publishers info: Charles E. Graham & Co, New York, Made in USA. See photos for examples and detail on condition. No back cover or page 67, the last page 65/66 is torn and only partially there. Page corners are worn on the cover and 1st few pages of the book. Inside the front cover of the book is a small type written card “To Agents” from “The Publishers” talking about excess demand for Mother Hubbard prompting them to substitute a different lithograph cover for Mother Goose Alphabet, the contents and pictures being the same. A lovely old children’s litho artwork cover book that display well for collectors.
