Description: Offering a very rare EB DELITE side squeeze lighter. Patented in 1935. Don't find many of these available especially with a French Tax Seal required on all lighters produced or sold in France 1911-1945. This particular Seal with the superimposed initials C I (contributions indirectes) facing the center was used starting in 1927. The fact that the lighter was imported from Austria makes a much rarer piece because of the German annexation of Austria in 1938. It's my opinion this lighter must have been imported between 1935 and 38. I'm no expert on the events leading up to WWII; however, I know that France and Germany were not getting along very well. Also Brass was redirected for other uses. Mechanically it lights pretty good providing the flint tension isn't too loose or too tight. Sometimes right away sometimes it takes several strikes to get a spark. Put a little pressure on the top front with a finger and it lights almost every time. Cosmetics, see pic.
