Here we have two Roundhouse 40' Box Cars with Youngstown doors, both factory painted Delaware and Hudson brown. These cars were made by Roundhouse sometime before that company was acquired by Athearn / Horizon. This box car lot is from the factory and is being offered here at reduced pricing as clearance items. These two cars would look perfect heavily weathered with added wheel inspection dots, faded ACI labels, removed running boards and late era COTS stenciling. Make them show their age on your more modern railroad. Or run them as built in an earlier time period. The car with the BIG D&H Herald represents a paint scheme as seen in the mid to late 1960's, while the car with the lube plates is painted as typical for cars seen in the mid to late 1970's. Heck, at this price point, patch these cars for your own railroad choice. Please study the photos to see what you will be getting. Note to Buyers: These car kits had the nickname "shake the box kits" and though not quite that simple were just a matter of few screws to enable assembly. These are basic entry level kits no longer offered by the factory.
